Our Wines

Carriage House White

Symbolizing the prestige of the horse business, the Carriage House is an iconic building on the Plantation. It has been meticulously restored to its 1890s appearance, so visitors can see how regally the horses were housed. One of the farm’s most famous racing mares, Gamma, now graces the label of our Vidal Blanc White Wine. The grapes are grown on our partner vineyard 40 miles south of Nashville and are a Tennessee-grown vintage. Enjoy the timeless taste of tradition.

Our History

The Mansion at Belle Meade Two centuries of hospitality

As the premier thoroughbred racing and breeding farm in the South for over a century, Belle Meade Plantation was the center of hospitality in the 1800s. Five United States presidents have enjoyed the renowned hospitality of the Harding and Jackson families, and the 5,400 acres that made up the Plantation were home to some of the greatest horses in racing history. The Plantation’s hospitality always included homemade wine, with the use of its many wild and domestic grapevines. In November 2009, the opening of The Winery at Belle Meade Plantation ensured the long tradition of hospitality would continue. Today the Plantation is open seven days a week for visitors, and the historic mansion is open for guided tours. Learn more about visiting Belle Meade Plantation at www.bellemeadeplantation.com.

So if you’ve been counting the days since you finished your last bottle, be sure to stop in and grab one off the shelf.

And for those of you who’ve never had the pleasure of tasting our fine Red Muscadine, we do wine tastings here at the winery at Belle Meade Plantation 7 days a week.
